Once again this year, the company was among Italy's 50 leading companies in metalworking, an honour bestowed upon it by Italy Post in collaboration with Corriere della Sera's Economic section.
The award ceremony—held on Friday 29 September in Milan at the Corriere della Sera headquarters and streamed live on Corriere.it—featured a wide-ranging speech by the two CEOs, Valentina and Enrico Aureli, who were asked to share their story and vision with the audience.
They talked about market, integration and Made in Italy, explaining how important it was to be able to withstand challenges, find creative solutions and persevere in the pursuit of success, despite the adversities of the last few years related to the pandemic emergency.
“In order to grow in a sustainable way, strategic acquisitions are key—Valentina Aureli commented—but so is the ability to integrate them effectively and maximise the value of the acquired know-how.”
Thanks to this approach to acquisitions, the Aetna Group achieved a turnover of EUR 500 million with over 2,000 employees: a combination of internal development and the ability to seize market opportunities.
“Made in Italy is a world-renowned brand of excellence,” added Enrico Aureli, “that reflects our ability to create functional and fast engineering solutions. It is an excellence we are rightly proud of, but also a solid foundation for us to keep learning something new and evolve. Our latest acquisition, the historic German company Meypack, is an example that opened up new perspectives for us.”
Both CEOs then emphasised the need to address the shortage of human resources in the metalworking sector and the effort that all companies should put in to make it more attractive to young talent. This is a crucial issue, considering that “the future of the industry will largely depend on our ability to attract bright new minds.”
The event was a snapshot of Italian manufacturing excellence, heritage of a tradition rooted in our history and culture, which translates into a unique ability to create high quality products and to excel worldwide in multiple industrial sectors.
These 50 companies in Italy Post's ranking are also very strong in terms of assets, with a value of EURO 22 billion, the same as Italy's upcoming Budget Law.
