The Hanover exhibition centre is preparing for Ligna, the top international trade show for the woodworking and processing industry. The fair will open on 26 May and will continue until the 30th, hosting more than 1,300 exhibitors from 44 countries and welcoming an estimated 80,000 visitors.

With a programme full of appointments, Ligna is the international showcase for innovations related to the entire woodworking chain, from raw material to finished product and distribution. The technologies offered by Robopac Machinery and Sotemapack are deployed at the end of this process, before the logistics stages, with the goal of ensuring a reliable, efficient completion of production.

From their exhibit in Hall 13 - Stand B38, the two business units of the Aetna Group will thus be able to show all the potential of their solutions in operation and the strength of a Group that has been present in international markets for more than 40 years

Robopac Machinery, leader in the design and construction of packaging machines with a focus on stretch film and paper wrapping technologies, is preparing for this event by introducing configurations designed to ensure maximum safety at every stage of handling and optimisation of the entire production flow.

Visitors to the stand will be able to see Orbit R13, the rotating ring machine that uses spiral stretch film. The versatility of this machine makes it suitable for connection to work cells or integrated lines, and perfect for packing large materials horizontally thanks to its large ring diameter and compactness. Moreover, use of the pre-stretch option can save a considerable amount of plastic material.

Robopac offers the Pluripac 1500 automatic cold packaging device as a complement to the Orbit machine. This device uses reels of bubble wrap, foam or polyethylene film to increase product protection. With reel lengths of 1500 mm, it is particularly suitable for industrial and furniture products and can be customised in different ways to meet specific requirements.

At the stand, visitors will also see the Pluripac manual impulse version that will be integrated with a second horizontal wrapping machine: Compacta 6, highly valued for its flexibility, reliability and compactness.

The fastest solution on the market for spiral wrapping will also be there. This is the Spiror range with machine model 400 and integrated taping head, ideal for products with mainly lengthwise development.

New this year is a packaging machine for doors, windows and other products manufactured by the window and wood industry: Rotoplat DW, the turntable machine designed for wrapping products vertically with stretch film.

Robot S7, the iconic self-propelled machine with superior packaging autonomy, equipped with R-Connect, a complete system that allows the end user to constantly monitor the machine’s proper operation. Thanks to this system it’s possible to control updates, prevent dangerous downtimes and solve technical problems.

The Sotemapack range is represented by the Spiror BW 2200/500 TL Vario Stretch, designed for orbital stretch wrapping on four sides, with an option for full six-side coverage. This automatic technology is suited for a variety of industrial sectors. Indeed, thanks to its 2200 mm ring diameter (also available in 1800, 2600, 2800, and 3500 mm diameters), this solution is ideal for protecting and stabilising loads of wood panels, MDF, large furniture, metal sandwich panels, metal sheets, low-to-medium density insulation panels, plastic panels, drywall and various other construction materials. It is also increasingly used in logistics for orbital or combined stabilisation of palletised loads. The specific machine showcased at Ligna 2025 features the new, innovative Vario Stretch carriage (patented), which allows automatic regulation and management of film pre-stretch level, film force around edges and film roping (programmable film wrap reduction). This makes it optimal for wrapping loads of varying sizes, shapes and consistencies. The Vario Stretch carriage is innovative as it transfers the energy required to manage all these functions without the use of sliding electrical contacts, thereby boosting system reliability, performance and longevity.

Robopac Machinery and Sotemapack offer advanced packaging solutions for the wood industry, responding effectively to market needs by focusing on technological innovation, connectivity and customised products.

Aetna Group’s return to Ligna marks not only a strong presence at one of the industry's leading trade fairs, but also reinforces its unwavering commitment to delivering the excellence of packaging Made in Italy. With over 7% of its revenue dedicated to innovation, the Group continues to invest in high-performance solutions designed to minimise production inefficiencies and protect goods from damage.
