To be able to meet ever increasing demand for fresh milk the merged business continues to invest in the latest innovation on the market for milk processing and packaging.

Having a 20 year history of investing in Robopac solutions, primarily in the Robopac Prasmatic packer range, they again approached Robopac to source an effective end of line solution for a new venture at their Watsons facility in Hampshire.

This latest investment by Freshways was in two Robopac Palwrapp Palletizers, this solution receives cases and places them onto a pallet, combined with wrapping the pallet in stretch wrap and placing card layer pads where required. All this in a footprint no larger than 7m x 8m making it one of the smallest footprint end of line palletizers in the World for the range of operations that it undertakes.

The Robopac Palwrapp with its ergonomic design suits multiple end of lines where each line is close together and space at the end is of a premium and the number of tasks needed to be performed by the Palwrapp cannot be done in the available space by hand.

The Robopac Palwrapp also benefits from being born with Robopac pallet wrapping DNA, capable of offering pre-stretch capability to ensure the load is secured to the pallet effectively with the minimum of film required.

The Robopac Palwrapp enables Freshways to continue to grow and expand into new markets. By fully automating the end of line it enables Freshways to process with consistency, efficiency and fulfil demand.

Stuart Wintle, Head of Engineering and Projects at the Watsons Facility said

‘’ Having invested on the site previously with a Robopac Prasmatic we knew that Robopac would be able to supply a reliable solution to meet our needs, having seen the Palwrapp Palletizer we decided it was the right choice for us, offering a complete end of line to take product directly to warehouse without the need for manual intervention.’’
